New Albany has wonderful health care providers and facilities. It is a great place to shop and has many options for dining. The schools are good and there are many recreational and social opportunities. Areas that effect my quality of life and I believe need improvement are: Enforcement of the city ordinances including speed limits, leash laws, and animal control; better maintenance and beautification of the Park Along the River. Property values are greatly reduced in neighborhoods with yards that are not properly maintained and when businesses are run for homes. The increased traffic to and from the businesses is a problem due to large delivery trucks like UPS and Fedx on narrow neighborhood streets and customers blocking driveways. Lastly there is too small an inventory of housing for sale in the $135,000 to $175,000 range. This price range is attractive to senior citizens and young, first time homeowners. Hope my input is helpful.

I have traveled to other cities with my job and also on personel trips. I have noticed that other cities, some even smaller than ours, have landscaped their interstate exits. I think this will help to draw visitors into our city. Some of our exits have sappling and tall grass growing around the guardrails and signs. We have only four exits and just having them mowed shorter and maybe sprayed for the weeds would make a big difference. Justi my two cents.

Your two cents are worth way more than that! Thank you Mark.

Our community is blessed in many ways. Our access to high quality education and medical services is outstanding. Our police and fire departments are top notch. BNA Park (ball fields and tennis complex) is great. Our community members are willing to help our town in an effort to remaining clean. Also, we have some outstanding businesses and industries in our town. Our downtown offers a lot for people in our community and people from out of town.
Preparing for the future is a tough task. I do have a few thoughts. Exits from 1-22 need to be in top shape. Most folks must see the front door before they enter the house or backyard. We must continue to work with UCDA and Three Rivers to attract business and industry. A curb-side recycling program would be great. Affordable housing is always a concern.

Hope to see the building for the UCHS built soon
I hope the community will consider help fully funding this so we can get a full facilitated environment this County desperately needs one and shows great support

I think New Albany should have an event center coliseum that could cater up 300 plus, but could used for proms and other multi purposes. The town could use some more retail stores. Like the ideas such as riverfront development. May small cabins along the river for people to rent, a new movie theater, something for kids and pre teens. The city has potential, it it seems we are resting on the ideas rather than putting things into play or moving forward.

I think New Albany has plenty of potential. The idea of riverfront development was excellent idea. I would like to suggest a few. Maybe more added to the current spray park, a carousel added the playground, maybe four small sized ca ins as part of the riverfront development idea, an event center that could accommodate 300 and used for other multi purposes, and more retail and chain businesses. The town has been resting for years now. I would like New Albany putting things into play by moving forward. It's time to progress. Just expressing my opinion. Thanks 4 Reading.
